Blazers’ Stuart named WHL Rookie of the Month
Calgary, Alta. – The Western Hockey League announced today that Kamloops Blazers forward Brodi Stuart has been named the WHL Rookie of the Month for November 2017.
Stuart, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound winger from Langley, B.C., recorded 12 points (3G-9A) in 12 games as the Blazers went 8-2-0-0 in the month. One of his goals came on the power play while two stood up as the game-winning goal. Four of those games were multi-point efforts, including his first career three-point game Nov. 25 against the Prince George Cougars, in which he was named the third star of the game. Stuart will enter December on an active six-game point streak with 10 points (3G-7A) on that streak.
Originally drafted by the Blazers in the fourth round, 84th overall, of the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft Stuart has collected 20 points (6G-14A) in 28 games with three power play goals. He also appeared in five WHL playoff games last season, scoring one goal.
The Blazers are back in action Friday, December 1 (7:00 p.m. PST) when the Blazers host the Everett Silvertips.
