AMERICANS WIN A THRILLER 6-5 IN OVERTIME TO DEFEAT THUNDERBIRDS

The Seattle Thunderbirds overcame a five goal deficit to force overtime against the Tri-City Americans but Parker Wotherspoon netted the overtime winner to give the Americans the victory in a thriller. Parker Bowles collected three points (1g-2a) while team captain Beau McCue gathered two points (1g-1a). Thunderbirds forward Alexander True scored twice including a short-handed goal to go along with an assist for a three point evening.

GIANTS 5, BLADES 4 (OT)

Jakob Stukel scored the overtime winner for the Vancouver Giants to lift his Club to a 5-4 victory over the Saskatoon Blades. The Blades applied pressure in the third period outshooting the Giants 20-6 in the frame. The Blades were awarded with a pair of power play goals in the third period to force overtime with goals coming from Cameron Hebig and Ryan Graham.

HITMEN 3, PATS 0

Lasse Petersen turned aside 19 shots to hold the Regina Pats scoreless and lift the Calgary Hitmen to a 3-0 win. Hitmen defenceman Travis Sanheim recorded two points (1g-1a) to claim first star honours. The Hitmen scored a power play goal in six opportunities and held the Pats scoreless in seven power play chances.

BRONCOS 2, OIL KINGS 3 (OT)

The Edmonton Oil Kings fired 53 shots on goal and it was Brett Pollock that buried the overtime winner to lift Edmonton to a 3-2 win over the Swift Current Broncos. Oil Kings defenceman Dysin Mayo chipped in with a pair of assists as the Oil Kings picked up their first win of the campaign. Alec Dillon stopped 28 shots for the Oil Kings while Landon Bow turned aside 50 shots for the Broncos in a losing cause.

ROCKETS 6, HURRICANES 3

The Kelowna Rockets continue their terrific play offensively as they defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 6-3. Rockets forward Tyson Baillie opened the scoring in the first period scoring his sixth goal of the season on a Rockets power play. Baillie also added two assists and was named the game’s second star. Hurricanes forward Tyler Wong scored his fourth and fifth goals of the season in a losing cause.
