Hurricanes bolster overage core with addition of hometown product Jerome

The Lethbridge Hurricanes have added local talent to their lineup for the 2019-20 Western Hockey League Regular Season.

Monday, the Hurricanes announced they had acquired D-Jay Jerome from the Victoria Royals in exchange for conditional draft pick compensation in the 2021 and 2022 WHL Bantam Drafts.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound forward began his WHL career with the Red Deer Rebels in 2016-17.

In the 2018-19 WHL Regular Season, Jerome had a breakout offensive season, recording 42 points (23G-19A) in 68 games, including four power-play goals and seven game-winning goals. He had eight multi-point games, including two three-point performances. He also had three multi-goal games throughout the regular season.

Since making his WHL debut on September 24, 2016, Jerome has appeared in 167 WHL regular season games, posting 59 points (31G-28A). His totals include five power-play goals and seven game-winning goals.

Jerome has also appeared in 20 WHL playoffs games over the past two seasons, totalling four points (2G-2A).
