THROWBACK THURSDAYS: OCTOBER 1-7

This Week in WHL History:

  • Kimbi Daniels of the Swift Current Broncos tied a record for the most goals by an individual in one game by scoring all seven goals on Oct. 2, 1990 in a 7-4 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers
  • On Oct. 3, 1990, Brian Sakic netted a record-tying ten points in a single game as the Tri-City Americans found the back of the net 19 times, which also ties a WHL record (Tri-City won by a score of 19-3 over the Seattle Thunderbirds)
  • The first goal in Kamloops Blazers history belongs to Rob Brown on Oct. 5, 1984 as the Blazers also picked up their first win, a 3-1 triumph over the Kelowna Wings
  • Boyd Anderson of the Medicine Hat Tigers scored five goals in a span of only three minutes and seven seconds on Oct. 7, 1972 breaking the record for the fastest five goals in one game by an individual as the Tigers recorded a 10-1 win against the Flin Flon Bombers
