CALGARY, AB. – The WHL Player of the Week is forward Linden Vey of the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Vey picked up nine points, scoring four goals and five assists to go with a +6 rating, in three games over the past week, helping the Tigers to a 3-0-0-0 record.

On Tuesday, November 23rd, the Tigers hosted the Brandon Wheat Kings before embarking on their U.S. Division road trip.  Vey scored two goals, including the game winner, added three assists and was named the games 1st Star as the Tigers downed the Wheat Kings 7-1.  On Saturday, November 27th the Tigers were in Everett to face the Silvertips.  Vey scored one goal and picked up two assists as the Tigers defeated the Silvertips 5-3.  On Sunday, November 28th, the Tigers were in Portland to face the League leading Winterhawks.  Vey scored his 10th goal in seven games to help lift the Tigers to a 3-2 shoot-out win over the Winterhawks.  

Vey leads all WHL scorers with 47 points (18 goals, 29 assist) in 24 games played and has maintained a +19 rating.  The Medicine Hat Tigers have won seven straight games and currently find themselves third in the WHL Central Division with 16-7-1-0 record for 33 points.

Vey, a 19 year old from Wakaw, SK, is playing his fourth season with the Medicine Hat Tigers.  The Tigers made him their 2nd round (42th overall) selection at the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft and was selected in the 4th round (96th overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft by the Los Angeles Kings.  Vey played all 72 games for the Tigers last season, leading the team in points with 75 and assists with 51.

The WHL has also nominated Adam Brown of the Kelowna Rockets for the CHL Goaltender of the Week Award.  Brown posted a 2-0-0-0 record this past week, stopping 53 of 56 shots faced for a 1.620 goals-against average and 0.946 save percentage.  Brown, a native of Yorba Linda, CA, helped lead the Rockets to a 6-1 win over the Regina Pats and a 3-2 road win over the Spokane Chiefs.
