BLADES ACQUIRE MORRISSEY FROM TRI-CITY

SASKATOON – In the second trade of a pair made last night, the Blades have acquired 18-year old goaltender Jake Morrissey from the Tri-City Americans in exchange for a 6th round pick in 2018.  The Calgary, AB product posted a 1.98 GAA, and a .932 SV% in 11 games for the WHL Champions, Kelowna Rockets.

“Jake is coming off a strong season in a winning environment in Kelowna and gives us some needed depth at our goaltending position.” said Managing Partner, Colin Priestner. “The move also gives our young goaltenders in the system the opportunity to grow and develop this season.”

The Blades’ next test comes Friday when they take on the always tough Medicine Hat Tigers. The team will then have a day off before battling the Vancouver Giants on Sunday.
