An 8-4 victory for the Everett Silvertips over the Tri-City Americans gave them leading roles in Monday’s edition of the WHL Three Stars.
Patrick Bajkov (Florida Panthers) impressed with a hat trick, his second of the 2018 WHL Playoffs, to lead the offensive charge. Bajkov scored Everett’s second and fifth goals of the game on breakaways, adding his hat trick as the insurance goal moments after his game-winng goal. Bajkov now has 19 points (11G-8A) in 13 games during the 2018 WHL Playoffs. The Nanaimo, B.C. product also has 40 points (22G-18A) in 48 career WHL Playoffs contests.
Earning second star honours right behind him was teammate Garrett Pilon (Washington Capitals), who had a goal and two assists for a three-point performance in the thumping. A product of Saskatoon, Sask., Pilon now has 21 points (10G-11A) in 13 games during the 2018 WHL Playoffs, including seven multi-point performances, four of which have come in his past five games.
Rounding out the WHL Three Stars for Monday was Tri-City Americans captain Michael Rasmussen (Detroit Red Wings), who scored twice and added an assist for a similar three-point game. Rasmussen remains on the list of players to record at least a point in every game his team plays during the 2018 WHL Playoffs, with 29 points (14G-15A) in 11 games. The Surrey, B.C. product has played well at home, with 13 points (4G-9A) in five games at the Toyota Centre.
