Moose Jaw, SK – Moose Jaw Warriors General Manager Alan Millar has announced the acquisition of 17-year-old defenceman Reid Zalitach from the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a fourth round pick in 2015 and a third round pick in 2016.

Zalitach was selected by Vancouver in the second round, 38th overall, in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft and is from Winnipeg, Manitoba.  In 54 career games he has seven assists and 18 penalty minutes.  He was also a member of Team West at the 2013 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Quebec.

Zalitach is expected to join the Warriors this week.  


Vancouver, BC – The Vancouver Giants have traded defenceman Reid Zalitach to the Moose Jaw Warriors in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2015 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft and a third-round pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.

The 17-year old Narol, Manitoba native played 54 games with the Giants over three seasons where he registered 7 assists and 18 penalty minutes.

“Reid is a great kid who deserves an opportunity to be a regular,” said Giants’ Executive Vice President and General Manager, Scott Bonner. “We wish him all the best and thank him for his time with our club.”
