Royals acquire Doust from Blades for draft picks

The trade action continued Wednesday in the Western Hockey League as the Saskatoon Blades completed a trade with the Victoria Royals.

Heading back to his home province is 2001-born forward Logan Doust. In return, the Blades have received a a ninth round pick in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft and a conditional pick in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft.

Doust is a 6-foot-0, 181-pound product of North Vancouver, B.C. Originally selected in the ninth round, 198th overall, of the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft, Doust spent the majority of last season with the Vancouver NW Giants of the BC Hockey Major Midget League, recording 16 points (6G-10A) in 20 games. In his rookie season in the BCMML, Doust appeared in 26 games, recording 26 points (13G-13A).

The Lower Mainland product appeared in three games with the Blades last season, recording zero points. He also appeared in one playoff game with the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League.
