BLAZERS TORCH ROCKETS IN OVERTIME – Chase Souto scored the winner on a power play 4:45 into overtime to lift the Kamloops Blazers to a 6-5 victory over the visiting Kelowna Rockets in the lone Western Hockey League contest on Monday.

Colin Smith, JC Lipon and Brendan Ranford all picked up a goal and two assists while Cole Ully and Tim Bozon each notched a goal and an assist for the Blazers (33-14-2-3), who erased a 5-3 deficit over the final 7:17 of the third period as they earn their third win in a row.  Cole Cheveldave made 26 saves to post his 23rd win of the season.

Myles Bell scored twice while Ryan Olsen, Carter Rigby and Damon Severson also scored for the Rockets (37-10-3-1), who allowed three goals on six Blazers’ power play chances as they see a six-game win streak snapped.  Jordon Cooke turned in a 40-save effort while seeing his personal 20-game win streak come to an end.
