GIANTS SEND COOKE TO WARRIORS

Moose Jaw Warriors General Manager Alan Millar has announced the acquisition of forward Scott Cooke from the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a 6th round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.

Cooke, 6’2” 185lbs, is from White Rock, BC and in his third season in the WHL.  Last year he had 102 penalty minutes in 40 games.  In 79 career games Cooke has one goal, four points, and 171 penalty minutes.  Cooke was originally drafted by the Giants in the 5th round of the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft.

The Vancouver Giants have traded 19-year old forward Scott Cooke to the Moose Jaw Warriors for a sixth-round pick in the 2014 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Cooke played 79 games with the Giants over the last four seasons, registering 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) and 171 penalty minutes in those games. The White Rock native has yet to play a game this season because of injury.

“Scott has been a heart and soul player and person for this organization,” said Giants’ Executive Vice President and General Manager Scott Bonner. “We’d like to thank him for his contributions and wish him all the best in Moose Jaw.”
