RED DEER, AB – Brent Sutter, President/General Manager/Head Coach of the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club, announced today the team has traded forward Joel Hamilton to the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a 3rd round draft pick in the 2014 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Hamilton has played two seasons with the Red Deer Rebels playing 114 games, scoring 14 goals and 43 assists for 57 points.

VANCOUVER, BC — The Vancouver Giants have acquired 19 year-old forward Joel Hamilton from the Red Deer Rebels in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2014 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

The 5’10” Cochrane, Alberta native played two seasons with the Rebels, tallying 57 points (14 goals, 43 assists) in 114 regular season WHL games.

“We are excited to have depth at center as Joel will come to us with good habits as he has played for Brent Sutter for the 2012-13 season,” said Giants’ General Manager and Executive Vice President, Scott Bonner. “He is obviously a leader as he wore an ‘A’ for Red Deer last season.”
