Blazers’ Connor Ingram named WHL Goaltender of the Week


Calgary, AB – The Western Hockey League announced today that Kamloops Blazers goaltender Connor Ingram has been named the WHL Goaltender of the Week and the league nominee for Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending December 4, 2016.

Ingram, a product of Imperial, SK, went 3-0-0-0 this past week, with a 1.66 goals-against average, .950 save percentage and one shutout. He started the week with a bang, notching 52 saves on Wednesday, November 30, in a 4-3 overtime victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds, earning first star honours. He then made another 15 stops on Saturday, December 3, in a 5-2 win over the Vancouver Giants before wrapping up the weekend with a 29-save shutout in a 4-0 triumph over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Sunday, December 4.

The 6-foot-1, 202-pound goaltender was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the third round (88th) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft after being named to the WHL’s Western Conference Second All-Star Team for 2015-16. He recently represented Team WHL at the 2016 CIBC Canada Russia Series and is one of three goaltenders invited to Team Canada’s National Junior Team Selection Camp for the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship.



Ingram is 14-9-1-0 in 24 appearances this season, having registered a 2.12 GAA, .935 SV% and two shutouts along the way. He ranks second in the WHL in GAA and SV%, is tied for second in shutouts and sits fifth in wins.

Listed by the Kamloops Blazers, Ingram is in his third WHL campaign, having compiled a record of 69-45-8-7, 2.65 GAA, .918 SV% and nine shutouts in 137 career WHL regular season appearances.
