Defenceman Seth Bafaro is on his way back to his home province following a Wednesday trade between the Saskatoon Blades and the Vancouver Giants.

In return, the Blades have received a fifth-round selection in theย 2021 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

The 5-foot-11, 186-pound defenceman from Revelstoke, B.C. was originally selected in the third round, 49th overall, of the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft by the Tri-City Americans.

Bafaro made his WHL debut on November 25, 2015 against the Everett Silvertips and scored the first goal of his WHL career October 11, 2017 with the Blades. Bafaro joined the Blades ahead of the 2017-18 WHL Regular Season. Overall, he’s appeared in 116 WHL regular season games, recording 18 points (7G-11A), including one power-play goal and two game-winning goals.

The 18-year-old will join the Giants for their game Friday, January 4 (7:00 p.m. MT) against the Lethbridge Hurricanes. The Giants are in action Wednesday, January 2 (7:00 p.m. MT) against the Medicine Hat Tigers at the Canalta Centre.
