Biography
2009-10 - Named the 18th Captain in Lethbridge Hurricanes history at the beginning of the 2009-10 season... Attended his second NHL Training Camp with the San Jose Sharks as a free agent... 2008-09 - Undrafted in his draft year, his efforts at the 2008 NHL Prospects tournament in Traverse City, MI earned Bancks an invitation to the Atlanta Thrashers training camp before a foot injury sidelined him at the beginning of the 08-09 season... Had a career year notching 47 points (13G, 34A) in 53 games in 08-09... Awarded the Hurricanes Most Popular Player award as voted by the fans... Named co-winner of the 08-09 Hurricanes Community Relations Award... 2007-08 - Awarded the Hardest Working Hurricane Award... 2006-07 - Listed by the Hurricanes during the summer of 2006... Was the recipient of the Hurricanes “Fittest Rookie” award in 06-07 for the first year player who performs best in the Training Camp fitness testing... Awarded with the 2006-2007 Carl Trentini Memorial Award for the Hurricanes Rookie of the year...
