The second WHL Three Stars for the April 2018 featured a pair of Calgary Flames prospects leading the way.

Victoria Royals captain Matthew Phillips (Calgary Flames) factored into all four goals to earn first star honours for the evening as the Royals edged the Vancouver Giants in overtime. With a pair of goals and two assists, Phillips now has 13 points (4G-9A) in six games during the 2018 WHL Playoffs.

Swift Current Broncos captain Glenn Gawdin (Calgary Flames) picked up a goal and an assist in Monday’s pivotal seventh game of their series against the Regina Pats. Gawdin’s goal wound up to be the series-winning goal as he finished with 11 points (5G-6A) in the series.

Rounding out the podium Monday was 2018 NHL Draft prospect Ty Smith, who also tallied a goal and an assist as the Spokane Chiefs downed the Portland Winterhawks 5-2 to keep their season alive. Smith’s goal was the first of his WHL Playoffs career and stood up as the game-winner as the Chiefs forced a seventh game in the series.
