#WHLPlayoffs Three Stars: April 12, 2018

The Everett Silvertips pulled off a late come-from-behind victory to capture two of the three spots on Thursday’s edition of the WHL Three Stars.

2018 NHL Draft prospect Wyatte Wylie led the way, earning first star honours after scoring the game-winning goal and adding an assist for his first multi-point effort in a WHL Playoffs game. Wylie’s goal came with 72 seconds left in the contest, helping the Silvertips quickly erase a one-goal deficit. It also happened to be Wylie’s first career goal in the WHL Playoffs.

Earning second star honours for the evening was Portland Winterhawks defenceman Brendan De Jong (Carolina Hurricanes), who scored Portland’ first goal in the contest to spark the home side in Game Four. The goal was De Jong’s second career goal in the WHL Playoffs.

Rounding out the three stars Thursday was Silvertips forward Garrett Pilon (Washington Capitals), who scored his sixth goal of the 2018 WHL Playoffs just nine seconds after the Winterhawks took their lone lead of the game. Pilon now has 13 points (6G-7A) in nine games during the 2018 WHL Playoffs.
