#WHLChampionship – Three Stars: May 11, 2018
An incredible performance from the Everett Silvertips to keep their season alive resulted in a pair of players earning spots on the nightly edition of the Western Hockey League’s Three Stars of the night!
Leading the way was 2018 NHL Draft prospect Riley Sutter, who had a goal and two assists for the three-point performance. Sutter provided the game-winning goal in the contest as part of a four-goal third period for the Silvertips. The Calgary, Alta. product now has 19 points (9G-10A) in the 2018 WHL Playoffs, with three game-winning goals to his credit.
Earning second star honours for the evening was Swift Current Broncos captain Glenn Gawdin (Calgary Flames), who potted a pair of goals for his second multi-goal performance of the series. The Richmond, B.C. product now has six points (5G-1A) in the 2018 Rogers WHL Championship series and 31 points (14G-17A) in the entirety of the 2018 WHL Playoffs. Gawdin remains third in scoring for the 2018 WHL Playoffs, two points behind Michael Rasmussen of the Tri-City Americans for second place and six behind Brad Morrison of the Lethbridge Hurricanes for first.
Rounding out the three stars Friday was Silvertips forward Martin Fasko-Rudas, who had a single assist in the home side’s victory. Fasko-Rudas now has eight points (5G-3A) in 19 games during the 2018 WHL Playoffs.
