WHL Radio Show with Jon Keen: Episode 29


Episode 29 of the WHL Radio Show with Jon Keen features goaltender Jordan Papirny of the Swift Current Broncos, one of the top performers thus far in the 2017 WHL Playoffs. Papirny has his team one win away from advancing to the Eastern Conference final and is the most recent WHL Goaltender of the Week. Papirny chats with Shawn Mullin, play-by-play voice of the Broncos.

NHL Central Scouting has released its final rankings ahead of the 2017 NHL Draft in Chicago. A total of 58 WHL players are listed, with 13 ranked in the top 31 amongst North American skaters. Forward Michael Rasmussen of the Tri-City Americans is projected to go in the first round, ranked fifth among North American skaters. He discusses his time in the WHL and looks ahead to draft day.

The 2017 WHL Bantam Draft is set for May 4 in Calgary, meaning it’s about time to start looking at some of the top bantam prospects eligible for selection. Connor McClennon of the Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy was named CSSHL Bantam MVP after leading the league with 99 points this past season. The product of Wainwright, Alta., joins the program and looks ahead to draft day.
