WHL Radio Show with Jon Keen, Episode #12

Tim Smith

This week, Jon Keen takes a look at the 13 WHL players named to Hockey Canada’s World Junior Sport Chek Selection Camp next week in St. Catharines, Ont. Four of the players named return from last year’s silver medal winning squad. There’s also two WHL players named to the Americans preliminary roster as they look to defend their gold medal.

Kootenay ICE head coach James Patrick takes us down his World Junior memory lane for a great story from the 1982 World Junior Hockey Championships in Minnesota.

Former Kootenay ICE & Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Zak Zborosky, currently playing for the University of Regina Cougars, has been named the WHL Graduate of the Month for November. He’ll talk about his strong start with his hometown team.

Finally, Lethbridge Hurricanes defenceman and 2018 NHL Draft prospect Calen Addison is helping lead an early season turnaround. He’s the WHL On the Run Player of the Week and will close out the show.
