Warriors acquire Sheen from ICE for draft pick

Brad McLeod

The Kootenay ICE made their second trade of the day with an East Division team Monday, making a deal with the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Heading to the Warriors is 6-foot-4, 218-pound forward Barrett Sheen (1998) while the ICE will receive a fifth-round selection in the 2018 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft in return.

In 18 games this season, Sheen has recorded seven points (2G-5A). Originally listed by the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Sheen made his WHL debut in January 2015. In 120 WHL regular season games, Sheen has 37 points (14G-23A) to his name as well as 224 penalty minutes.

A native of Airdrie, Alta., Sheen should add some toughness to an already-strong Warriors club that is preparing for the grind of battling for first place in the East Division.
