Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced the Week 23 edition of the CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2016-17 season.  The weekly rankings of the CHL’s Top-10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.

The Regina Pats continue to anchor the No. 2 rank in the CHL Top 10, holding tight for the second consecutive week. The Pats knocked off the Saskatoon Blades and Swift Current Broncos last week, while also dropping an overtime outing to the Broncos and a regulation loss to the Lethbridge Hurricanes. This is the 22nd week the Pats have been ranked among the CHL’s best. Next up, Regina hosts the Medicine Hat Tigers Friday night.

The Medicine Hat Tigers move into the seventh slot in the CHL Top 10, jumping from ninth last week. The Tigers edged the Calgary Hitmen before shutting out the Brandon Wheat Kings to remain hot and earn a ninth week in the CHL Top 10. The Tigers edged the Prince Albert Raiders in overtime Wednesday night and will visit the Regina Pats Friday evening.

The Everett Silvertips slide from seventh to ninth this week, trading spots with the aforementioned Tigers in the CHL Top 10. The Silvertips shut down the Portland Winterhawks and Kamloops Blazers before falling to the Seattle Thunderbirds last week. This marks the 19th week Everett has been mentioned among the top clubs in the CHL. The Silvertips are in Spokane to visit the Chiefs Wednesday evening before hosting the Kelowna Rockets Friday night.

The Seattle Thunderbirds also earned an honourable mention in this week’s CHL Top 10.
