Stage set for B.C. Interior war between Rockets & Blazers
Marissa Baecker

The Kelowna Rockets and Kamloops Blazers are pegged to square off in an Interior rivalry to open the first round of the 2017 WHL Playoffs.

That came to fruition Saturday night when the Prince George Cougars earned a single point via the shootout to claim the B.C. Division title, leaving the Rockets in second place to take on the third place Blazers.

Games 1 and 2 of the best-of-seven series are slated for March 24 and 25, respectively, at Prospera Place in Kelowna. The series will then shift north to the Sandman Centre in Kamloops, with Games 3 and 4 scheduled for March 28 and 29, respectively.
