Spokane Chiefs’ Mitch Wahl signs with Calgary Flames

Spokane, WA — Spokane Chief forward Mitch Wahl has signed a three-year-entry contract with the Calgary Flames. Wahl was a second-round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft and registered 32 goals and 67 points last season with Spokane, both second on the team. The 19-year-old is back in a Chiefs’ sweater for his fourth season and has two goals and six points in five games this year. Wahl is also a +4. 

Last year, Wahl had a +42 and nine game winning goals, which was third in the WHL, which both led the Chiefs. Wahl currently has 124 career assists, 23rd all-time in franchise history, and 194 career points, 21st all-time. The Seal Beach, California native also played for the United States at the 2009 World Junior Hockey Championships in their fifth place finish. Wahl finished the tournament with one goal and four points. At the 2008 Memorial Cup, Wahl was named to the tournament All-Star Team after scoring two goals and six points. Wahl has played 206 career games in Spokane.
