Silvertips acquire Price from Tigers for draft pick

Medicine Hat Tigers

The Everett Silvertips added another promising young talent to their forward core Tuesday, acquiring 17-year-old Jalen Price from the Medicine Hat Tigers. In exchange, the Tigers have received a fifth-round selection in the 2021 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Price, a 181-pound, 6-foot-1 product of Campbell River, British Columbia was originally drafted by Medicine Hat in the third round, 63rd overall, in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft. Last season, Price played with the Campbell River Storm of the VIJHL where he earned 18 goals and 23 assists in 44 games. Price’s team also captured the VIJHL Championship where he contributed 16 points (7G-9A) in 16 games.

In the 2018-19 WHL preseason, Price notched three assists in four games for the Tigers. Now, the 2001-born forward will continue his development with the Everett Silvertips who hope to repeat their bid as U.S. Division champions.

Price’s season with the Silvertips kicks off when Everett plays Vancouver on Friday, September 21 (7:30 p.m. PDT) at the Langley Events Centre for #WHLOpeningWeek.
