Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced the Week 21 edition of the CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2016-17 season.  The weekly rankings of the CHL’s Top-10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.

Having registered as the first team to clinch a playoff spot in the Western Hockey League, it’s only fitting the Regina Pats enjoy another week as the No. 1 team in the entire CHL. The Pats knocked off the Calgary Hitmen, Edmonton Oil Kings and Red Deer Rebels over the past week, before seeing an 11-game winning streak come to an end at the hands of the Everett Silvertips Tuesday evening. This marks the 20th week the Pats have been ranked among the CHL’s best. Next up for Regina is a Wednesday meeting with the Swift Current Broncos.

The Medicine Hat Tigers make a move up the CHL charts, jumping from 10th to eighth this week. The Tigers scored wins over the Prince Albert Raiders, Calgary Hitmen and Lethbridge Hurricanes this past week to reach the 40-win plateau and remain atop the Central Division standings. This is the seventh week the Tigers find a place within the CHL Top 10. Next for Medicine Hat is a Wednesday tilt with the Victoria Royals.

The Everett Silvertips return to the CHL Top 10, in the ninth slot, after being on the outside looking in last week. On a lengthy eastern sojourn, the Silvertips fell to the Brandon Wheat Kings before shutting out the Moose Jaw Warriors and defeating the No. 1-ranked Regina Pats. This is the 17th week the Silvertips land in the CHL Top 10. Next on the docket is a Wednesday date with the Saskatoon Blades.

Earning honourable mentions this week are the Prince George Cougars and Seattle Thunderbirds.
