Pats’ Brooks named WHL Player of the Month for November

Calgary, AB – The Western Hockey League announced today that Regina Pats forward Adam Brooks has been named the WHL Player of the Month for November 2016.

Brooks, a 20-year-old product of Winnipeg, MB, registered 26 points (4G-22A) in 10 games to help the Regina Pats go 7-2-1-0 in the month of November, maintaining their standing as the No. 1 team in the CHL Top-10 Rankings.

Since returning from Toronto where he participated in training camp with both the NHL’s Maple Leafs and their AHL affiliate Marlies, Brooks has shredded the WHL, registering points in all 17 games he has suited up for.

In November, the Pats’ captain put forth eight multipoint performances, including four points on two separate occasions. On November 4, he collected a goal and three assists in a 9-6 win versus the Saskatoon Blades before following up with a goal and three assists on November 20 in an 8-3 road win over the Vancouver Giants. He was named WHL Player of the Week for the week ending November 13, after notching six points (1G-5A) over two games.

Averaging 2.60 points per game during the month of November, Brooks earned first star honours once, second star recognition once and third star honours three times.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound centre is tied for fourth in the WHL scoring race with 38 points (9G-29A) through 17 appearances this season as he makes a push to defend the WHL scoring title he won during the 2015-16 season, in which he managed 120 points (38G-82A) in 72 games.

Brooks, a fourth round pick (92nd) of the Toronto Maple Leafs at the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, is in his fifth season with the Regina Pats, amassing 243 points (85G-158A) in 268 career WHL regular season games. He was originally a second round pick (25th) of the Pats at the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.
