The Regina Pats added a young, skilled forward to its lineup, Thursday, with the acquisition of 17-year-old Koby Morrisseau along with a conditional fifth round pick in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft from the Spokane Chiefs.

In exchange for the Grandview, Man. Product, the Chiefs receive the Pats’ fourth round pick in either 2019 or 2020 and a conditional third in 2020.

“Morrisseau is a good young player,” said Pats Head Coach and GM John Paddock. “We are excited to add him to our team in Regina.”

Spokane’s first round pick (ninth overall) in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft, Morrisseau appeared in 22 games for the Chiefs as a 16-year-old last season, posting one goal and an assist.

“Looking at our forward numbers and depth, we felt this was the right move for our organization at this time,” said Chiefs’ General Manager Scott Carter. “We’d like to thank Koby for his time with the Chiefs and wish him all the best in Regina.”
