Medicine Hat Tigers sign Mads Sogaard to WHL Standard Player Agreement

Medicine Hat, Alta. – The Medicine Hat Tigers are thrilled to announce the signing of 2018 1st Round CHL Import draft pick Mads Sogaard to a standard Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreement.

“Mads is a big, flexible, fluid, lengthy goalie with a good head for the game. He has international playing experience with Denmark that will translate well to our league,” said JF Martel, Goaltending Consultant.

The 6-foot-7, 190-pound goaltender from Aalborg, Denmark, is familiar with North America after playing last season for the Austin Bruins in the NAHL. Sogaard posted a 2.64 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage in 22 games played.

During the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, Sogaard won the Denmark U17 DM Best Goaltender. He also boasts two bronze medals with the U18 WJC (D1A) team in 2016-17 and 2017-18.
