Americans head north to rumble with Royals in Round 2


The Tri-City Americans and Victoria Royals will meet in the second round of the 2018 WHL Playoffs.

Trailing the Vancouver Giants by a 3-2 margin in their first-round series, the Royals scored a dramatic Game 6 victory to force a deciding seventh contest before edging their Lower Mainland rivals 4-3 on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, the Americans have been waiting in the wings after sweeping the B.C. Division-champion Kelowna Rockets in four games.

Game 1 of the series goes at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Arena in Victoria on Friday, April 6 at 7:05 p.m. PT. The series will move south of the border with Game 3 scheduled for Tuesday, April 10 at 7:05 p.m. PT.
